OSCO’s “Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is” Campaign

Over a decade ago, when the Catholic School Board announced that they would abandon the Normal School, the community told us that they wanted to preserve the Normal School and protect the Green from development. In those years, a small group of OSCO volunteers has spent countless hours making that happen.

OSCO has been instrumental in:
  • Convincing the Province to spend over $4 million to renovate and stabilize the building exterior.

  • Getting the City of London to acquire the property and commit to $10 million over 10 years.

  • Encouraging the YMCA to become a 20 year tenant of the building.
Have we done what you asked?

Now it’s your turn…

OSCO has pledged to provide $50,000 over 5 years for outfitting the refurbished space.

Half of that is going to come from our regular fund raising activities. Can you help us with the other half? We are looking for 250 people to donate $100 each.

In a 2012 OSCO survey, 77% of respondents said they would contribute funds to preserve the Normal School. Now is when we need your help.

To receive a tax receipt for donations over $20, please donate directly to the YMCA. You may either do this online at ymcawo or by phone at 519.667.2356 (both with credit card), or send a cheque to: YMCA, 382 Waterloo St., London, ON N6B 2N8, marked “Attention: Development”. In all cases, please be sure to designate the contribution for the “Normal School, OSCO pledge”. You may also make a cheque out to YMCA, and forward it to OSCO. We’ll make sure that it is credited correctly and that you receive your tax receipt.

Together, we can make this happen.
